Dà Rìn yuztà dàn hæđ ’ìz nèst àpìn dà shèđ. Wàn tāhm d’oł’ wànz hæđ dàn fluw auŧ dà shèđ―Dey wàz wan’ìn tà gèŧ sàm’n’à iyŧ fo dey yàng―æn’ hæđ dàn lef’ dà ţìx āł àlown.

Æftà’ ’wāhł, Dædi Rìn kǽm.

“Wà’s dàn wìn’ own àp ìn hià?” hi sèđ. “hu dàn kawzd y’ał hawrm, cìlìn? Y’ał tèrìfāđ!”

“Oh, Dædi,” dey sèđ, “sàm bìg oł bœgimæn kǽm bā jès’ nauw. Hi lœkt ał miin æn’ skèri! Hi wàz ał piykìn àpìn āhr nesŧ wìŧ ’ìz bìg oł ayz. Dæŧ rìlly dàn skèirđ às!”

“Ā si,” sèđ Dædi Rìn, “wèr ’i dàn wìn’ àuf tu?”

“Wèl,” dey sèđ, “hi dàn wìnŧ daun-n ’æt wey.”

“Hoł’’àp a mìnìŧ!” Dædi Rìn sǽ, “Ā’m à go æftàr ’ìm. Don’ţ’ał wàri nàn, cìlìn. Ā’ł gìt ìm.” Jèss dìn hi fluw autæftàr ’ìm.

Jèss æz ’i kǽm ’raun’ dà bìnd, wàz dà lāìn hu ’i sāh wałkìn àlowng.

Bàŧ dà Rìn wà’n’ àfrǽđ. Hi swuupt daun àpown dà lāìn’ bæk æn komìnst tà tellìn ’ìm àuf. “Wàt bìznìs yu gàt kàmìn awł àpìn mā haus,” hi sèđ “æn’ tèrìfāìn mā kìdz!”

Dà lāìn ǽn’ŧ pǽđ ’ìm no àtìnshàn æn’ kèp own wałkìn.

Daŧ jès’ mǽđ dà lì’ł lauwđ-mauþ bàrǽŧ ’ìm iyvìn mo fiyrsli. “Yu ǽn’gàŧ no bì’nìs biìn àp deà, Ā tèl yà! Æn’ ìf yà kàm bæk,” hi sæđ, “wèl, den yu’ à si! Ā don’ŧ rìli wàn’ ’à du iŧ,” hi sèđ, æn’ diìn lìftìđ wàn à’ hìz lèigz, “bàŧ Ā’ł brǽk yo bæk wìŧ mā lèig ìn à sèkànđ!”

Æt dæt hi fluw bæk tà hìz nèst.

“Dèr y’ał go, cìlìn,” hi sèđ, “Ā dàn tāwŧ dæt fuuł à lèsàn. Hi won’ŧ bi kàmìn bæk.”
