About the story
What’s with this “Wren” thing?
The oldest extant version of the fable we are presenting here appeared in 1913 in the first volume of a two-volume anthology of Low Saxon folktales (Plattdeutsche Volksmärchen “Low German Folktales”) collected by Wilhelm Wisser (1843–1935). Read more ...

Igwa digdi kamo kinatatakot?”

“Naku, igwa Papa,” taram ninda. “Nagdigdi an sarong maligno kasuba’go lang. Makatákuton an pandok nya ta hinorat nya an saiyang mga mata sa satuyang salag. Natakot kami gabos digdi!”

“Iyo baga?” taram ki Amang Pipit. “Sain sya nagduman?”

Dai natakot an bayong.

Dai sya tini’no kan liyon na durudiritso an paglakaw.

Ikinadagit ini kan bayong at lalo’ syang pinagtaraman.

“O, mga aki’, tinaw-an ko na sya kan liksyon.” “Dai na sya digdi satuya’ mabalik pa.”
